Ashburn was a fanatical follower of the Light and the leader of the Golden Vanguard. Initially serving as a Lawbringer in the Order of the Golden Law during Jonathan Kalery's incumbency, Ashburn was strongly against Ennalor's reformation of the order, allowing in warlocks, shadow-users and the races of the Horde to join the ranks of the Oathsworn.
After forming the Golden Vanguard, Ashburn orchestrated a coup against the Oathsworn for their "betrayal" against the Church and the Alliance.
