"Tal anu'men no Sin'dorei! (Death to all who oppose the children of the blood!)"
—Legate Dawnblood

Legate Dawnblood is the fearsome champion of the Blood Knight order and head of the House of Dawnblood.

Legate spent the majority of his early life as a proud defender of high elven society but was injured by the near annihilation of his people during the Scourge invasion of Quel'Thalas.

Early life

Fall of Quel'Thalas

Blood Knights

Following the near-collapse of Quel'Thalas and the mass conversion of the high elven survivors to the blood elves, Legate went on to join the newly-founded Blood Knight order, a prominent group of sin'dorei paladins under the command of Lady Liadrin.

The Blood Knights' path was not an easy one. While they had no particular moral code or strict teachings to adhere to, exposure to M'uru had testing effects on the knights. Some were plagued by headaches and had to overcome physical pain to successfully invoke their powers, while others dealt with suppressed emotional issues being reawakened. M'uru's voice (described as reminiscent of "shattering glass") was often distorted and distant - there was little warmth in the road the knights walked.

Physical appearance

Legate stands tall and proud, bearing all the markings of one raised in a martial background. Broad shouldered as one of elven lineage could be and his skin carries countless scars from battle. His long elven ears have missing pieces along the length of them. He has jagged claw marks that run down the left side of his face from his hairline to his jaw that seem to wordlessly tell the tale of his missing left eye. The empty eye socket is filled with a glass eye. The lifeless orb is black and its pupil is a bold red phoenix of the Blood Knight order. His arms and neck are covered with tattoos displaying sin'dorei nationalism in vibrant colored ink. Like most elves, his crimson red hair and beard are kept groomed and he keep as clean as one of his profession can be.

He is never seen unarmed or unarmored and his gear is always in excellent condition. From the heavy plates, he hangs various grim trophies he has earned in battle ranging from a chain that wraps over his should and waist that an assortment of bones and bits of horn taken from monsters hang to a long blue braid torn from Alliance tabards that hang from his cloak.
