"Strength is life, for the strong have the right to rule. Honor is life, for without honor, one may as well be dead. Loyalty is life, for with out one's family, one has no purpose. Death is life, one should die as they have lived, with honor."

Solorin Rhuviel is a Knight-Lord to the Blood-Knights of Silvermoon and is a current military advisor and strategist for the Horde war-machine. He is the current military head and overseer of the lands of Felo'Danil, the ancestral holding lands of House Rhuviel.

History[]

Early Life[]

Solorin entered the world as the firstborn of Telo'Varin and Ceylia Rhuviel. Even in his early years, Solorin exhibited remarkable affinity for the light, coupled with a natural talent for swordsmanship. These qualities didn't escape the notice of his father, prompting him to evaluate Solorin's potential by directing him towards paladin training.

Dedicated and determined, Solorin dedicated years to honing his skills, striving for excellence in every facet of his being. When he eventually returned to Felo'Danil, he encountered a mere toddler who would later unveil himself as none other than his younger sibling, Xalandir Rhuviel.

With unwavering commitment, Solorin persisted along the arduous path of paladinhood, simultaneously undertaking the responsibility of instructing his brother in the intricate art of swordplay.

(Post) First War[]

Only in the aftermath of the First War did Solorin make the pivotal choice to enlist in the esteemed ranks of the Knights of the Silver Hand. Driven by a deep-seated commitment to offer his assistance where it truly mattered, Solorin discerned that his honed paladin abilities aligned seamlessly with the values and mission of the Knights.

Second War[]

Amidst the tumultuous Second War, Solorin emerged as a stalwart force on the front lines, collaborating with the Alliance of Lordaeron to repel the relentless incursions of the Orcish Horde. His most intense battles took place during the invasion led by Ogrim Doomhammer, which targeted the ancestral lands of Quel'Thalas. Disturbed by the realization that the orc marauders were receiving assistance from trolls, Solorin took it upon himself to venture to the ruins of Tor'watha, where he decisively confronted and neutralized every troll, regardless of age or gender.

Following the eventual cessation of hostilities, Solorin was among the voices that echoed the sentiment that the downfall of Eversong Woods and his cherished hometown of Felo'Danil stemmed from the ineffectual leadership of the human forces. Dissociating from the Knights of the Silver Hand, he redirected his focus toward aiding his father in the administration of Felo'Danil and extending military aid whenever and wherever it was requisitioned.

The Fall of Quel'thalas[]

Amidst the cataclysmic Invasion of Quel'thalas, Solorin stood as a foremost summon to counter the relentless advance of the Scourge's undead legions. The grievous scar of death, known as the Dead Scar, had already torn through a segment of Felo'Danil's lands. Solorin, in unison with his sibling Xalandir, shouldered the responsibility of repelling the ceaseless tides of undeath that threatened their homeland, all while striving to reach Silvermoon to contribute to its defense.

In the wake of the Sunwell's tragic fall and the poignant demise of their Ranger-General, Solorin undertook an ardent transformation into a Blood Knight. His valor as a paladin and dedication as a warrior of Quel'thalas stood as testaments to his worthiness. Through years of unwavering commitment, he remained rooted in Quel'thalas, diligently participating in the daunting task of reconstruction — both the reclamation of lost territories and the restoration of his cherished haven, Felo'Danil.

Northerend[]

Landing[]

Amidst the prospect of confronting the monstrous entity that razed his lands and shattered his home, Solorin seized the opportunity to join the expedition to Northrend. With a resolute spirit, he answered the call and not only lent his strength but also established a formidable stronghold for the Blood Knights on the frigid shores of the northern realm.

Argent Crusade and Tournament.[]

The passage of months yielded little progress for the Horde War-Machine's attempt to breach the icy barriers surrounding Icecrown, the dominion of the Lich King. Frustration and impatience enveloped Solorin as he found himself dwelling in the same land that seemed to swallow time. A ray of hope emerged when news reached him about a faction known as the 'Argent Crusade'. At first dismissing them, curiosity eventually compelled Solorin to journey to Icecrown and witness the grandeur of the tournament himself.

The front gates of Icecrown Citadel[]

Regret washed over Solorin for not heeding the Argent Crusaders' words, as he realized he had missed the chance to be a part of the pivotal force that contributed to the downfall of the Lich King. Driven by this missed opportunity, he took up the mantle of leadership and guided his own contingent to the very gates of the Icecrown Citadel. The ensuing assault unfolded over what seemed like interminable days, yet Solorin's resolve remained unshaken. When news finally reached him that the Lich King had met his end, a surge of determination coursed through Solorin, prompting him to decide that the time had come to return to his beloved Quel'thalas.

Cataclysm[]

Amidst the tumultuous tide of the Cataclysm's upheaval, Solorin strategically directed his efforts towards securing advantages for House Rhuviel and Felo'Danil. Nevertheless, it was within this chaotic era that an unexpected camaraderie blossomed with an enigmatic group known as the Rising Sun Fellowship. In the midst of forging these connections, fate wove the threads of companionship, leading him to encounter Auxilia, who would become his cherished life partner.

For a span of years, Solorin clung steadfastly to his endeavors, nurturing what was rightfully his, while also nurturing the profound love he shared with Auxilia. Concurrently, he extended his supportive hand to the Rising Sun Fellowship, their shared experiences forging unbreakable bonds. Though the Fellowship held a significant place in his heart, his primary dedication remained the revitalization and advancement of Felo'Danil.

Pandaria[]

As the Horde's clarion call beckoned, Solorin and his wife Auxilia stood at the forefront of those summoned to partake in the conquest of Pandaria. With Auxilia's remarkable mastery as an infiltrator and Solorin's commanding prowess as the Knight-Lord, their combined skills carved a formidable presence. Their voyage brought them aboard a zeppelin, destined for Pandaria's distant shores, a land ripe with opportunity.

However, their initial arrival was marred by misfortune, as the zeppelin's ill-fated crash led to their separation amidst the unfamiliar terrain. The verdant expanses of Pandaria's landscapes became a labyrinth of uncertainty. After a harrowing two days, their unyielding determination culminated in a reunion, rekindling their shared purpose.

With renewed vigor, Solorin and Auxilia embarked on a quest to locate a sanctuary, a haven amidst the wilds, where they could not only take respite but also signal to the Horde War-Machine that they had successfully arrived on Pandaria's shores. Their intention was steadfast: to affirm their participation in the collective struggle against the Alliance, strengthening the Horde's resolve in this foreign, untamed land.

Zandalari Invasion[]

During the tumultuous era of the Zandalari's relentless incursion into Pandaria, their campaign to reclaim former territories and dominion, Solorin's fate took a tragic turn. Captured by a formidable group of towering trolls, he found himself ensnared in their clutches. What followed were harrowing months of captivity, marked by brutality, unrelenting torment, and the erosion of his very identity. Enduring agonizing torture for an extended period had dire consequences on Solorin's psyche. The relentless suffering inflicted upon him led to the shattering of his memory. He became a vessel devoid of recollections, his sense of self obliterated by the prolonged cruelty he endured.

The tides of fate shifted after the Zandalari's audacious invasion of the Isle of Thunder. Perhaps seeing him as expendable or broken beyond measure, the trolls cast Solorin aside, discarding him from their vessel into the watery abyss. Left to the whims of the sea, he drifted aimlessly for days until destiny guided him to the shores of the Jade Forest.

Battered, broken, and on the precipice of oblivion, Solorin's motionless form was discovered by a compassionate fisherman. Carried by the tides of compassion, the fisherman's actions breathed life back into the near-forgotten warrior. With unwavering kindness, he bore Solorin to the sanctuary of Dawn's Blossom.

For the following two months, Solorin sought solace within the tranquil embrace of Dawn's Blossom. Embracing a role as a bartender, he immersed himself in the art of serving, finding semblance and renewal amidst the rhythmic flow of patrons and conversations. It was here that he began to mend, not just his physical wounds, but the fragments of his shattered self as well.

Recovery[]

After an extended period of separation, Solorin's reclusive existence was punctuated by an unexpected twist. His dearest confidant, Kel'tira Sunblaze, along with Solorin's own wife, Auxilia, emerged as the ones to unveil his hidden whereabouts. The shock of this revelation gripped Auxilia, rendering her unable to grapple with the reality that her long-thought-deceased husband was, in fact, alive. Struggling to reconcile her emotions, she chose to depart without uttering a farewell to Solorin.

The news of Auxilia's departure, coupled with the realization that she wouldn't be returning to him or to Felo'Danil, dealt a heavy blow to Solorin's spirit. Overwhelmed by heartache, he retreated from the world around him, cocooning himself in isolation. This withdrawal manifested in his transformation into a recluse, a solitary figure who turned his back on his responsibilities.

Amidst his seclusion, Felo'Danil took on a life of its own. Left to thrive in the absence of Solorin's direct involvement, the land gradually transformed into a realm of prosperity. The passing of time saw Felo'Danil's affluence and influence burgeon independently, guided by invisible hands rather than the active presence of its Ruler.

Pre-Draenor []

The Dissolution of the Rising sun[]

A span of two years passed before Solorin's former companion and confidante, Kel'tira, reemerged onto the stage of his life. With determined steps, she traversed the familiar terrain of Felo'Danil, eventually arriving at the Rhuviel estate. Her purpose was clear: to relay that Solorin's absence had been deeply felt, and that the Rising Sun Fellowship had disintegrated. Still grappling with the profound void left by the loss of his beloved Auxilia, Solorin's initial response to Kel'tira's message was a dismissive wave, signaling his perceived detachment from it all. The weight of his grief was palpable, and it seemed as though Solorin was determined to sever all connections to his previous life.

Undeterred by Solorin's initial refusal, Kel'tira persisted within the realm of Felo'Danil for two days. Her efforts were aimed at coaxing Solorin out of his self-imposed isolation, urging him to rediscover the essence of the person he had once been. Over time, her words and presence managed to chip away at his defenses, leading Solorin to a turning point. He agreed to reclaim his former identity.

Solorin's love for Kel'tira crystallized into a marriage proposal, a testament to the depth of his feelings. But when he extended this offer, it was met with an unforeseen response—Kel'tira declined. The rejection inflicted wounds of anger, hurt, and isolation upon Solorin. These emotions, coupled with his pre-existing scars, led him to a juncture of solitude.

As Solorin reentered the world, a new bond began to unfurl between him and Kel'tira. Gradually, the tendrils of affection wound around their hearts, blossoming into a profound love. However, the course of their relationship bore its own complications, a fact that could not be ignored.

Once more, Solorin sought solace within the embrace of Felo'Danil. Withdrawing from his military role, he retired from the frontline but remained a shadow strategist, lending his acumen to other military leaders seeking guidance for their campaigns. His path had transformed yet again, shaped by the ebb and flow of love, loss, and the ever-present longing for purpose.

Post Draenor[]

Having bid farewell to his service within the Horde War-Machine, Solorin embarked on a profound endeavor. His unwavering focus was channeled into the rekindling of honor and magnificence for the Sin'dorei, a legacy dear to his heart. Moreover, the renaissance of his cherished home, Felo'Danil, and the restoration of House Rhuviel were now the north stars guiding his purpose.

Embracing the mantle of the Knight-Lord once more, Solorin assumed his position with a renewed sense of determination. His primary objective now was to cultivate the resurgence of his people's prestige, to reforge the tarnished links of the Sin'dorei's legacy into a chain of valor once more.

A beacon of leadership, Solorin initiated the arduous task of replenishing the ranks of his brethren. With an eye toward the future, he took on the mantle of mentor, shaping raw potential into formidable warriors, ensuring that the indomitable might of Quel'thalas would endure for generations to come. His watchful gaze encompassed the intricate dance of daily training and the nurturing of a united spirit, fostering resilience that would weather the tests of time.

Pre-Legion[]

The Broken Shore[]

Among the valiant souls thrust into the heart of conflict, Solorin stood resolute in the face of the first wave crashing upon the desolate expanse of the Broken Shore. Guiding a steadfast cadre of Blood Knights, he surged onto the corrupted sands, wielding his purpose as a beacon of resilience against the encroaching darkness. The battle raged on, an unyielding tempest of clash and turmoil. Solorin and his compatriots fought with unswerving tenacity, their efforts stretching across what felt like an eternity. But as the sun dipped beneath the horizon of their endeavors, a somber tide of retreat swept through their ranks. The fall of Vol'jin, a devastating loss, prompted the strategic withdrawal orchestrated by Sylvanas Windrunner herself.

Upon the shores of Quel'thalas, Solorin marshaled his resolve, using the respite to mend wounds and mend strategies. The resounding clash on the Broken Shore had set the stage for a broader conflict, and Solorin understood that the war to come would demand more than mere mettle. As Quel'thalas and Felo'Danil prepared for the inevitable storm, Solorin's presence stood as a bastion of hope, a reminder of the unbreakable spirit that had forged his path thus far.

Legion[]

Forging a new path[]

In the wake of his relentless commitment to his people's resurgence, Solorin embarked on a personal endeavor, a side project that aimed to reunite the Blood Knights of yore and revive the essence of their time-honored principles. His conviction was unwavering, fueled by the belief that the past held keys to their collective strength.

A fractured alliance[]

However, Solorin's path diverged from the prevailing tide, as he steadfastly declined to align with the Silver Hand. A shadow of mistrust loomed over this association, as Solorin recalled the scars that Quel'thalas had borne due to their prior missteps. He refused to forget the consequences of that ill-fated alliance.

The Creation of the Phoenix Knights[]

His skepticism extended to the leadership that emerged from this alignment. Solorin's candid assessment deemed Liadrin, the leader of the Blood Knights within the Silvermoon fold, as a figure lacking the fortitude and wisdom demanded by their revered order. He didn't mince words in his opinion that Liadrin's leadership was characterized by a perceived inadequacy, labeling her as a "fool" and a "weakling." As such, Solorin continued in his endeavors to lead his own Sub Section of Blood Knights, taking those who shared his principles and thoughts along with him forming the Order of the Phoenix Knights

Battle for Azeroth[]

The Battle for Undercity[]

Amidst the tumult of battle, Solorin took up arms during the fiercely contested Battle of the Undercity. Leading his determined contingent of Blood Knights, he stood resolute against the relentless advance of the Alliance forces, every stroke of his blade echoing his unwavering allegiance to Quel'thalas. In the throes of conflict, he embodied the indomitable spirit of his people.

As the dark echo of destruction reverberated through the Undercity, orchestrated by Sylvanas Windrunner herself, Solorin and his people faced a devastating reality. With honor upheld and sacrifices made, they retreated from the smoking ruin to the sanctuary of Felo'Danil. Amidst the ashes of the past, they sought solace and healing, recovering from the profound losses incurred in the name of their homeland.

Zandalari War Campaign[]

With his sights firmly set on reclaiming and revitalizing his ancestral home, Solorin rejected the allure of Zandalar and its detestable trolls. Instead, he focused his energies on the continuous restoration of Felo'Danil's resources and the strengthening of its martial prowess. Guided by his dedication and unyielding spirit, he fostered a renewed vitality within his domain.

Shadowlands[]

Return to Northrend[]

In the harrowing days of the Scourge's resurgence, House Firavel, House Rhuviel, and House Ashenglaive rallied together, united by their shared determination to thwart the looming threat. These noble houses, accompanied by numerous members of their courts, marched forth to confront the Scourge invasion, resolute in their mission to avert another catastrophe reminiscent of the genocidal horrors of the past.

In the throes of battle, their combined forces exhibited unwavering courage, standing as a bulwark against the relentless Scourge onslaught. Braving the darkness with valor, their troops fought tenaciously. Yet, despite their bravery, the toll of losses and the sudden disappearance of Solorin's own brother, Xalandir, cast a grim shadow over their efforts. Faced with such adversity, their once unbreakable front began to waver.

Amidst the unforgiving battlefield, the decision to retreat was borne out of necessity. The cost of their sacrifice had been high, the shadows of their fallen compatriots haunting their every step. With heavy hearts, they made the difficult choice to fall back, vowing to regroup and defend anew another day.

Returning to Felo'Danil, Solorin shouldered the burden of leadership in his brother's absence. As Xalandir's mysterious vanishing cast a lingering uncertainty, Solorin assumed the mantle of guidance and strength for his people. The responsibilities of leadership, coupled with the anguish of his brother's fate, rested heavily upon his shoulders.

Dragonflight[]

The Dragon Isles[]

With the resurgence of the mighty dragons and the shrouded mysteries of the Dragon Isles unveiled, Solorin's focus underwent a significant shift. As the veil lifted from these forgotten realms, revealing their hidden secrets, his intrigue was ignited. The allure of ancient relics and forgotten knowledge beckoned to him, promising untapped power that could propel his people's growth to new heights.

Driven by a desire to harness the hidden potentials of these enigmatic lands, Solorin set forth on a path of exploration and discovery. The forgotten realms held the whispers of bygone eras, echoing with the memories of civilizations long past. In their depths, he sought relics imbued with history, wisdom, and the latent strength that could potentially shape the future of House Rhuviel and its people.

His motivation wasn't mere curiosity; it was a quest for the power and growth that his people deserved. Aware of the challenges that lay ahead, he navigated these uncharted territories with the intent to secure resources that would fortify his people's progress. As a leader, he saw the potential to elevate his realm, Felo'Danil, and the legacy of House Rhuviel to a level that transcended the present.

Physical Appearance[]

Solorin, a commanding figure at 6'6" tall, stands distinct among his elven kin. His demeanor exudes a confident grace, his posture exemplifying a regal bearing. Years of unwavering dedication to training have sculpted his physique into a testament of strength and muscle. Each day, he remains committed to refining his abilities as both a skilled Swordsman and a masterful duelist. The canvas of his body narrates tales of battles fought, with a particularly striking narrative etched into the form of a three-clawed scar that marks his right visage. His commitment to an aristocratic appearance is evident when he is not clad in combat armor—always impeccably groomed and dignified.

His eyes bear a deep amber hue, while his skin radiates a sun-kissed tone that complements his golden-blond hair, which he typically ties into a resolute ponytail. Intricately woven into his skin are runic tattoos that come alive with a luminous aura during combat and moments of communion with the light. These ethereal markings not only accentuate his physical prowess but also add a radiant fervor to his strength.

Personality[]

Solorin embodies a profound seriousness that emanates from his experiences as a paladin and Knight-Lord within the esteemed Blood Knights. His journey has honed in him a resolute 'No Nonsense' demeanor, forged through rigorous training and unwavering dedication. Yet, amid the embrace of family and friends, a distinct fairness emerges, showcasing his deep care for those who have earned his respect and affection.

A palpable unease overtakes him in encounters with Trolls, a group he rarely extends kindness to, except for a singular exception. He holds them responsible for the searing destruction of his home and the harrowing captivity he and his brother Xalandir endured.

Distinct from the archetype of a 'traditional paladin' and detached from the modern tenets of the Blood Knight order, Solorin upholds the legacy values of yore. He diverges from the conventional practice of worshiping the light; instead, he draws his power and light-infused strength from the Sunwell, a trait shared with many of his blood elf kin. In his perspective, the light serves as both a tool and a weapon, subject to his command and wielded according to his will.
